Meraki takes on NYC

These past 4 days in NYC has left a mark on my heart that will never fade away. NYC has always been my favorite place on earth. From a young, inexperienced stylist going for the first time at 23 years old, to salon owner with my own 23 year old stylists along side of me. All I kept thinking was “my dream has turned into my right now”. Tears welted in my eyes more than a few times. I pray each of them will be able to feel that for themselves one day. Maybe they’ll even think of me.

This trip changed us.

-It changed our level of education in our industry and pumped our veins of inspiration to do better, and be better, for ourselves first, so we can be better for you, our clients.

-It changed the way we value our colleagues and friends. With 9 people in tow, I witnessed nothing but respect and patience in considering all ideas and suggestions on how to spend the time we had together. We did NOT STOP! We all gave 100% each day knowing the time together was short.

I want to thank each girl who was able to come along and walk with me on this adventure. I am so incredibly proud of your ability to adapt to the surroundings, while being 100% present in each moment. Thank you for your willingness to get up and get at it even when we all know every leg and every toe hurt from walking so much. Thank you for the endless amounts of laughter and memories. It will be an experience I cherish for the rest of my life.

Day 4…E-Bike riding on the streets of NYC. There is nothing more exhilarating than the cool wind of 5th Avenue hitting your face!
